If there’s one thing that the liberal democrats are not, it’s tolerant of people who hold different points of view from their own. As a matter of fact, they detest conservatives and everyone that doesn’t subscribe to the far left, anti-Trump mentality.
Not long after the Virginia train crash late last month that was carrying several Republican lawmakers on board, Jonathan Tasini, a left-wing author and commentator for CNN took to social media to celebrate – that’s right, celebrate – the tragic news: “Wow, btwn train full of Goopers hitting truck and this, God is working hard today to clean up the stink. Thank her. #TreyGowdy#goptrainwreck.”
After it was revealed that there was one fatality and a number of people injured in the crash, Tasini deleted the tweet and apologized, but blamed his outrageously insensitive comment on “the deep racism/hypocrisy/criminality promoted by GOP.”
Not surprisingly, Tasini describes himself on his verified Twitter page as a “Bernie Sanders surrogate,” and his profile picture is of himself with his arm around the Vermont senator. In case this wasn’t enough to convince you that Tasini is a crazed Bernie Sanders fanatic, he also wrote a book titled The Essential Bernie Sanders and His Vision for America.
Incredibly, Jonathan Tasini wasn’t the only left winger to make an insensitive and unfunny remark about the GOP train crash. On February 1, liberal writer Stephen King wrote, “A trainload of Republicans on their way to a pricey retreat hit a garbage truck. My friend Russ calls that karma.” Just twenty minutes later, King posted another tweet in an attempt to walk back on his previous post: “OF COURSE sorry the truck driver died.”
King likely spent the rest of the afternoon thinking about what he wrote, and eventually made the decision to apologize almost three hours later: “A rather thoughtless tweet from me concerning the train-truck crash, for which I apologize (if one is necessary). It should be pointed out, too, that those Republican politicians, who can be heartless when they vote, immediately got out to help.” (Related: The new liberal philosophy has been explained: hatred is now tolerance, conformity is now diversity, and consensus is now fact.)
It’s not just conservatives that the leftists are intolerant of, however; in many cases, its anyone who is a male, a Christian, heterosexual, white, or a combination of the four. Earlier this month, The College Fix reported that a high school in New York went as far as canceling a production of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” after a student activist group complained that the lead role was given to a student that was white. (Related: The real goal of the intolerant left is the outright extermination of conservative white culture.)
In an angry letter penned by members of Ithaca High School’s Students United, the students expressed their outrage over the school’s decision to give the lead role of Esmeralda to a white person. “It shows you that theater wasn’t made for you,” said Maddi Carroll, a member of the Students United group who happens to be black. Carroll added that the decision demonstrates that “if you can’t get the parts that are written for you, what parts are you going to get?”
It goes without saying that if the opposite had happened – that is, a student group got together and complained about the lead role going to a black student – there would be outrage not just within the school, but likely across the entire country.
This is exactly why most conservatives don’t buy into the idea that liberals are the “tolerant,” “compassionate” and “open-minded” people that they say they are – because when it comes to the way in which they deal with people who don’t subscribe to their radical agenda, they are often as nasty as they come.
